Edible Boston

Fall 2021 Edition

Review article on Bird & Wolf

"Walking into Bird + Wolf in North Andover feels like a breath of fresh air. Which is largely the point. The airy, capacious restaurant and café, which opened in phases beginning in March, was designed around the concept of biophilia—a term coined by naturalist Edward O. Wilson to express people’s innate tendency to seek connections with nature. But a successful restaurant can’t rest on atmosphere alone, and Bird & Wolf has plenty of culinary cred, with a highly credentialed and experienced three-person team in the open kitchen."

"North Andover’s new Bird & Wolf brings biophilia and worldly flavors to the classic chop house, set in a peaceful, modern space."

"The Southern California native got her start at Olive Garden, but now she’s soaring with her own restaurant."

“Around Boston” is a bit of a stretch for this particular inclusion on the map, but there’s a familiar face here for Boston dessert lovers — Giselle Miller, formerly of Cafe Artscience and Menton, creator of gorgeous desserts like this one, is executive pastry chef at the cafe portion of Bird & Wolf. (The venue also includes a full restaurant.) The cafe — which includes a plant-filled, year-round patio with a heated floor — features coffee roasted by Karma Coffee in Sudbury alongside Miller’s intricate breakfast pastries, mini plated desserts, cookies, quick breads, and more."

"Another welcome next step: The talented Giselle Miller, who has worked at Menton, Café ArtScience, Liquid Art House, and Deuxave, is executive pastry chef at the new Bird & Wolf in North Andover. For now, you’ll find almond-orange croissants, tartes au citron, macarons, and more at the café; a full restaurant is coming soon."
